SEPTEMBER CAME AND WENT

I want to say I can't believe that September came and went - man I hate it when I don't get time to sit down and regularly write here. I guess it will be something that I'll try to be more diligent at making time to do.

Mike did more hunting in September - this time, rifle season. He was gone alot and for whatever reason, my time seems equally filled but I couldn't really tell you doing what...ha! We both worked hard at fighting off some sort of 'bug' which never really ever got hold - that goodness for Airborne! (Hmmm, I need to buy stock in that stuff, I guess!)
My friend and I took a day trip up Hwy 88 to Hope Valley. What a fun drive and a good time! So beautiful. We both took scads of pictures, of course, but we were still about 2 weeks to early - the trees were just beginning to turn. Nonetheless, we still got some pretty shots. We took our time and stopped whenever the urge struck.

It was so awesome - there was even snow in the upper elevations which was a complete surprise to us. Made for some really beautiful landscapes.
I'd never traveled up this way and I always enjoy traveling to new destinations. We found this incredible lake and picnic area and a number of other little turn offs that proved very scenic.

Our trip ended in Lake Tahoe, where we took a quick detour to Harvey's casino to take our chances on the slot machines! I walked out of there $52.50 ahead of when I walked in! Love it when lady luck shines down on me - even in a small way!
